This morning the 2022 Flormart prize was awarded to R3GIS by Minister Patuanelli of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Policies.
R3GIS competed for the prize in the architecture and sustainable design category by presenting the GREEN CITY Module of the GreenSpaces software for citizen participation. It is not just an info website, but a public portal based on continuously updated data calculated by taking into account the tree or shrub species, location, size, plant growth site (park or avenue) and daily weather data.
At the award ceremony, Renato Ferretti, Doctor of Agronomy and Editorial Director of Linea Verde magazine, presented the public portal to the audience: "A tool that makes it easy to communicate the environmental benefits that green areas provide to the city. It is the result of research work by the company R3GIS in collaboration with the University of Florence and the University of Milan, which has been carried out in Italy and also in other countries such as Poland and Switzerland at European level, and even worldwide. And it allows all citizens to be able to access public green information through this portal and thus to know how much that park or that single plant produces in terms of environmental benefits."
Our thanks go to the jury and the Flormart staff for organising this event.
