Libro Bianco del Verde, Rome (IT) | 20th January
Confagricoltura and Assoverde, in collaboration with CREA, the Istituto Superiore di Sanità and the Professional Associations are organising the Conference "HEALTH IS GREEN / GREEN IS HEALTH. Health Parks for a neo-renaissance of Green and its Care" on the 20th of January 2023, at the Confagricoltura headquarters in Rome, to present the new Focus of the "Libro Bianco del Verde 22/23".
The themes of greenery and its care are intrinsically linked to the effects they have on human health, contributing directly to everyone's wellbeing. Certainly urban areas, which are particularly subject to anthropic pressure, require special attention in the coexistence between man and the environment. Already in the 19th century in South Tyrol, urban planners and medical doctors began working together to plan urban environments in order to improve the health and wellbeing of citizens. Paolo Viskanic, CEO of R3GIS, will speak about these topics during PANEL 2.1 - GOVERNANCE AND PLANNING, which will be held from 14:30 to 15:00, bringing as an example the study conducted on the experience of the city of Merano.
The innovative ambition of the new focus of the "Libro Bianco del Verde" 22/23 is precisely this: to bring an interdisciplinary vision to urban green management. With a total of 58 technical-scientific contributions from administrations, universities and research bodies, technicians and experts in the green sector, together with doctors, psychologists, researchers and experts from the medical-healthcare world, innovative themes will be addressed for the definition, on a scientific basis, of measurable and certifiable requirements and parameters for Health Parks, in order to prevent certain pathologies, to improve people's psycho-physical wellbeing and quality of life, to reduce pollution and increase the quality of life in our cities.
